Only hummingbirds can fly backwards and upside down.
They have a unique ball and socket joint on their shoulders to rotate their wings in all directions. Because their wings are long, narrow, and tapered, they can fly faster and easier. Hummingbirds are able to change their flight direction in a way that other birds cannot.
